About Us

We are a team of dedicated and experienced researchers with years of expertise in high-profile institutions and industries. United by a shared passion for scientific discovery, we collaborate to tackle some of the most complex and challenging problems in bioinformatics and cheminformatics.

Gamika Seneviratne, CEO

Gamika is a serial entrepreneur, Co-founding Hyperglade, a Silicon Valley based technology company, and Yara Technologies, a premier Education and Fintech Digital Ecosystem provider in emerging partners. Neuralgap is his latest venture. He has over 10 years in working with applied Machine Learning and Deep Learning and formerly was an Assistant Director at a top investment research firm.

He has a Master’s from Imperial College London, with a first-class honors and was awarded the Nicholas Battersby Prize for displaying excellence in high performance engineering design. He is also a CFA Charterholder.

Juliyan Gunasinghe, Head of Cheminformatics

Juliyan is an experienced cheminformatician who has several published works related to computer-aided drug design, protein dynamics and RNA-ligand interactions in many reputed journals including Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling (JCIM), ACS Omega, Scientific Reports and Journal of Biomolecular Structure & Dynamics (JBSD).

He is has a Masters degree in Biotechnology from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. He won the award as an “Emerging Leader in Research” from Swinburne. Apart from leading the Bioinfromatics and Cheminformatics division at Neuralgap, he also collaborates with scientists from several institutions such as University of Cambridge, University of Nottingham, National University of Singapore and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in computational chemistry based research.

Sathur Kanagarajah, Head of AI

Sathursan is an experienced AI researcher with several published works focusing on computer vision, deep neural network optimization, and modern machine learning paradigms. His research has been featured in conferences and journals such as FPL 2020, Robotics & Automation Magazine 2020, and ICCV 2023.

He holds a position as an AI Researcher at Neuralgap, where he developed a Self-Organizing Map (SOM)-based architecture for Generalized Class Incremental Learning, which was later published in ICCV 2023.  He currently leads a team of four junior engineers and works at the intersection of biomedical engineering and cutting-edge machine learning paradigms, including incremental learning, active learning, and multi-modal learning.
